Library of American Studies (LAS)

The Library of American Studies is a collection of approximately 30,000 titles in the social sciences and humanities of the United States drawn from the following fields: literary criticism, history, biography, politics, foreign relations, the arts, film, music, religion, law, gender studies, popular culture. (The LAS also maintains a substantial reference collection.) Books are conveniently arranged by subject and, with a system unique to the Royal Library, are made available in open stacks. Researchers may browse the collection freely, read a book from the collection in the Center’s reading room, and/or borrow books through interlibrary loan.
