The Museum in Troubled Times

Fancy boosting your dose of museums? This year’s BeMUSEUM conference will take place at KBR on 20 October. A library, but also a museum, a renowned collection, a place to study and a place to meet, for all people passionate about Belgium’s rich cultural, scientific and historical heritage.

BeMUSEUM is delighted to welcome you once again this fall with a brand-new edition. Under the banner “The Museum in Troubled Times” the conference will address how current and future crises and developments change museum practices.

As museums are confronted with different types of crises (such as the pandemic, armed conflicts, etc.), they are increasingly urged to take specific measures, that in addition come with wide-ranging economic, social, security, health and ethical consequences. How do these crises change museum practices?
