The Imitatio Christi has been a global bestseller for 600 years. After the Bible, it is the most distributed and widely read book in the world. This spiritual self-help book teaches you, through biblical quotes and the wisdom of philosophers, Church Fathers, and mystics, how to find deep inner peace and attempts to answer the universal question: how to live? KBR treasures more than 1000 manuscripts and prints of the Imitatio Christi, including the autograph that Thomas a Kempis kept until his death—a collection that reflects nearly the entire history of the printing press. From 20 November to 20 December 2024, you can admire them in a pop-up exhibition at the Librarium on level -2.
