From Tuesday 22 October 2024 to Friday 6 January 2025, KBR invites you to discover the exhibition “Small and Everywhere: Pulps, Paperbacks and Blow Books.”in the general reading room.

This exhibition focuses on small-format and mass-market books from KBR’s collections, bringing forward a deliberately eclectic selection: popular pocket books, romance series or pornographic collections, paperbacks and practical manuals.

The pop-up exhibition shows the astonishing development of these mass-market collections in Belgium in the post-war period, and reveals a largely unknown but extremely rich heritage in the library collections.

The exhibition is part of the FED-tWIN Pop Heritage project, which aims to rediscover and make accessible KBR’s mass-culture collections.

It is organized in partnership with the Blow Book association, which publishes books in a very small format (7.6 x 11.6 cm), sold in vending machines placed for the occasion at the library.

• Access: This pop-up exhibition is accessible to reading room users. It is also open to the general public without a reader’s card. Visitors can register at the reading room reception and will receive a special badge.
