Internet Archive: the digital library accessible at KBR

Even after Open Access Week, we remain committed to free access and the sustainable preservation of heritage, documents and data for research. That’s why we are putting the work of Internet Archive in the spotlight.

An impressive number of documents available

This open digital library is a veritable web archive and provides access to more than:

  • 735 billion web pages
  • 41 million digital books
  • 22 million multimedia documents (audio and video)
  • 4 million images
  • 890,000 software programmes

Internet Archive works with a variety of partners to make the Web accessible to all. With The Wayback Machine, the association is working on the following projects:

  • Open Library: a free digital lending library for more than 2 million electronic books
  • Open Context Alliance: a worldwide intergovernmental archive of texts and multimedia content in multiple languages
  • Open Education Resources: an open library of courses, lectures and educational or university documents from China and the USA
  • Open Community Network: a project for free Internet access for low-income households in San Francisco
