SUMMARY:Book History @ KBR
DESCRIPTION:10 experts\, 7 lectures\, 1 shared passion\nWhat happens behind the walls of the national library? What have our researchers been working on and which historical treasures are kept in the closed stacks? \n10 passionate experts—both from KBR and other institutions—will present their research. They have one thing in common: they conduct research on books from the KBR collections. \nLet yourself be drawn into a series of fascinating stories from the history of the book: from medieval manuscripts in three columns and manuscript fragments to Renaissance military music and Brussels printing families. Discover how images were collected by the Bollandists for the Acta Sanctorum\, delve into the library of Johannes Müller\, and be inspired by artists’ books and unique bindings from the 19th and 20th centuries in the Jules Jadot collection (1873–1954). The lectures will be given in Dutch\, French\, and English. \n  \nProgramme\n\n\n\n13:00\nGrote boeken\, grote verbanden: middeleeuwse handschriften in drie kolommen uit KBR\nBram Caers (Universiteit Leiden)\n\n\n13:30\nLes trésors cachés de KBR : autour des fragments de manuscrits et de leur apport pour l’histoire du livre\nNicolas Michel (UNamur / KBR)\n\n\n14:00\nRenaissance Military Music and the Book\nDeanna Pellerano (KU Leuven)\n\n\n14:30\nPauze\n\n\n\n15:00\nBoekgeschiedenis en genealogie.
