Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Monday to Saturday: 9 am – 7 pm
‘Bruegel in Black and White’ exhibition open on Sunday: 11 am – 7 pm
The Reading Room of the Manuscript Department is located on Level -2.
How to consult documents
The public has direct access to the reference books, catalogues and books located in the Reading Room.
If you want to consult the manuscripts or printed works that are held in store, please fill in the request form in the online catalogue. Works are issued at regular times:
- 9.30 a.m.
- 10.30 a.m.
- 11.30 a.m.
- 12.30 p.m.
- 2.30 p.m.
- 3.30 p.m.
- 4 p.m.
No more than three works will be issued at once.
You must have the permission of the Head of the Department if you want to consult any of the precious manuscripts. The list of codices in this category is available in the reading room. Please submit a request to consult these manuscripts in advance via email or ask a staff member.
