The Rare Books Reading Room is located on Level -2.

- All collections have to be consulted in the General reading room.
- Seat reservation is required.
- Please reserve your documents 2 working days in advance (reference works too).
How to consult the documents
Readers will find a large number of reference works, bibliographies and studies in the reading room that are directly available. The reference library is arranged thematically and these books can be found in the online catalogue.
If you want to consult any of the books that are held in store, please fill in the request form in the online catalogue. Requested documents are issued at regular times:
- 9.30 a.m.
- 10.30 a.m.
- 11.30 a.m.
- 12.30 p.m.
- 2.30 p.m.
- 3.30 p.m.
- 4 p.m.
You will need advance admission permit if you want to consult any special books, incunabula or any special series (book numbers from INC or FS). Please make a request in advance by email or at the Rare books Department. The Curator may refuse access to some documents.
Copies and reproductions
You are permitted to take photographs, without using a flash and for strictly personal purposes, for study or work only, although the condition of the document must be considered above all else.
