  • KBR, UGhent and UNamur are pleased to invite you to the concluding colloquium of the BelgicaWeb project, which focusses on improving access to Belgium’s web archives through a sustainable, user-friendly platform. The project addresses key challenges in legal frameworks, metadata enrichment, and user engagement, while also developing tools to support researchers and institutions working with born-digital heritage.

    This event brings together project partners, researchers, legal experts, and digital humanities practitioners to share insights and explore future directions for web archiving in Belgium and beyond.

    Thematic panels will explore key areas addressed during the BelgicaWeb project, including:

    •  Legal and policy challenges in web archiving and open access
    • The role of artificial intelligence in managing and analysing web archives
    • Training and capacity-building for early-career researchers in digital heritage

    This colloquium is an opportunity to reflect on the BelgicaWeb project’s contributions to web archiving infrastructure, legal clarity, and research support in Belgium. We warmly welcome all interested participants from libraries, archives, academia, and beyond.
