Who is albert?
The restaurant on the 5th floor is called albert. Chef Filip Fransen chose a name with a nod to the monumental library building, which is popularly called ‘L’Albertine’. Albertine now has a little brother.
About albert’s kitchen
We offer dishes and drinks to delight your taste buds throughout the day, from lunch to pastries in the afternoon.
Local, sustainable produce
In this monumental building that treasures time, albert offers you an organic farm-to-fork experience. Treasure your time with good food and drinks and good company.
We work together with farmers and producers located near Brussels who are committed to our cultural heritage. We selected them for their views on a sustainable food chain and small-scale production and their focus on quality.
Expect a variety of raw milk cheeses, coldcuts, natural wines, gastrobeers and other amazing products that reflect Belgium’s—and therefore Europe’s—long tradition of fermentation and preservation.
And, to save the best till last, you can savour all these treats while enjoying one of the best views of Brussels.
