This month, BelgicaPeriodicals reached a symbolic milestone: more than one million digitised pages of Belgian periodicals are now available in full text.

BelgicaPeriodicals gives you access to 134 journals and periodicals dating from the 18th century to the present day. Thanks to Optical Character Recognition (OCR), you can perform full text searches in these digitised documents. Currently 1,070,104 pages are available online.

Scanning robots

This is an important milestone in the expansion of KBR’s digitisation capacity, given that the portal was launched in February 2020 and reached one million pages in two years. With the introduction of automated book scanners, we have been able to speed up the digitisation of the periodicals kept in our collections. Such a result can of course only be achieved thanks to the hard work of a team of motivated employees.
