How does it work?

It is not necessary to book a seat in advance, but a reader’s card is required. There are 190 places available and you can use the wifi network free of charge.

Prices reader’s card

  • Day card: 5 EUR
  • Annual card: 25 EUR
  • Annual card for students and journalists : 15 EUR
  • Duplicate card: 5 EUR

The reader’s card can only be obtained on site at the KBR reception desk. Payment is preferably made electronically. Do not forget to bring your proof of identity and, if applicable, a valid student or press card for the reduction.

Co-working space

The co-working space in KBR’s reading room will stimulate your creativity. You can brainstorm and collaborate surrounded by books and other co-workers,.

Do you wish to consult works?

If so, we advise you to reserve the desired books or documents online.

Important information:

  • The minimum age for access to the reading and study room is 16 years.
  • The reader’s card is strictly personal.
  • By purchasing a reader’s card, you agree to the internal regulations of KBR. Download the regulations in French (PDF) or Dutch (PDF).
  • The following items are not allowed in the reading and study rooms: coats, bags, umbrellas, helmets, pens, post-its, chewing gum, sharp objects, adhesive tape, portable scanners, food and drinks. You may leave these items in the free and secure lockers in the cloakroom.
  • You may bring a black pencil as well as your own books needed for your study or research, provided you have written permission. Download the form here and print it or complete it at the entrance of the reading room.
  • Please use the transparent basket available at the entrance for the personal items you need in the reading room.
