KBR’s digitisation policy is mainly implemented internally, by the DIGIT Department. In some cases, however, KBR considers engaging a specialised firm, especially in the context of framework programmes for mass digitisation or in specific cases involving collaborations with third parties.
Besides administrative and financial considerations, the choice also depends on the type of collections to be digitised and the volume that has to be digitised within a certain period of time.
KBR provides information to other general or specialised digital portals at home and abroad within the framework of digital collaborative alliances with other libraries both within and outside of Belgium. These include:

- Europeana Fashion,
- The European Library : the digital portal of the national and university libraries in Europe.
