Come Back Concert: Ratas del viejo Mundo
Take a musical journey to the 15th century in the centuries-old Nassau Chapel.
Michaela Riener (soprano) and Floris De Rycker (lutenist) are the linchpin of the internationally renowned ensemble Ratas del viejo Mundo. These “rats of the old world” place as much value on scores by the world’s most famous composers as on street music. Ratas del viejo Mundo performs in sold-out venues and their recordings receive worldwide acclaim.
On 1 and 2 October 2020, let yourself be carried away by the combination of lute and vocals the ensemble will bring, while you are surrounded by manuscripts and artworks from the KBR museum and the centuries-old Gothic vaults of the Nassau Chapel. Especially for Come Back Brussels, Michaela Riener and Floris De Rycker present a varied program that draws inspiration from unknown lute tablatures, folk music and the early Renaissance polyphony that became the most beloved music of its time.
With your concert ticket you can visit the KBR museum on the day of the concert you have booked between 18:00 and 20:00.
In collaboration with the Alamire Foundation.
