On 12 September 2026, KBR will host the third public meeting dedicated to the Congolines research project. The event will give researchers the opportunity to present the preliminary findings of their work on Congolese painting from the first half of the twentieth century, with a particular focus on mural paintings and watercolours created by artists from different regions of the Congo.

This event will provide an opportunity to place important yet little-known works back in their historical context and to reflect on the challenges encountered in tracing the stories of these artists and their works. Finally, the meeting will offer an opportunity to exchange views with you on the study of works connected to Belgian colonialism in the Congo.
