A sensory route
Visitors with a hearing impairment can explore the museum completely independently. The route is logically organized, and much of the content is visual, tactile, or written. Although the experience of polyphonic music is not accessible to everyone, the story of the museum remains clear and understandable.
The exhibition offers various forms of information:
- Manuscripts and objects are explained through texts.
- Interactive screens with written explanations are available in multiple locations.
- The route also encourages touching, smelling, and observing, enriching the museum experience regardless of hearing ability.
Please note: due to the low lighting throughout the route (to protect the fragile manuscripts), lip reading is not always easy.

Access and reception
The main entrance of KBR at Mont des Arts 28 is easy to find. The reception desk is located opposite the entrance, in a well-lit area. This makes lip reading possible when interacting with the reception team. The rates are displayed on large digital screens behind the reception desk.

Assistance and practical information
Visitors with a disability have free access to the museum. Anyone accompanying them is also admitted free of charge.
Although the museum is designed for independent visits, staff are available to provide assistance if needed.
While animals are generally not allowed in KBR, assistance dogs are, of course, welcome.
