Accessibility KBR museum

We want to make the KBR museum accessible to everyone. Below you will find all the information to ensure your visit runs smoothly. Visitors with a disability have free access to the museum. Anyone accompanying you is also admitted free of charge.

The museum holds an Access-i certificate, which independently assesses the accessibility of our infrastructure. See the full overview at www.access-i.be.

The KBR museum is designed to engage multiple senses: visual, auditory, and tactile. In addition, three different routes are available, tailored to diverse audiences and offered in multiple languages.

Using an interactive wristband, you can choose how you experience the museum: in depth (The connoisseur), concise (Bird’s Eye view), or playful (The playful bird).

Visitors with a mobility impairment

The museum is accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with a mobility impairment. Read about how to easily find your way to the KBR museum and the facilities we provide.

Visitors with a visual impairment

The museum is currently partially accessible to blind and visually impaired visitors. Get an overview of the available facilities and our efforts to further improve accessibility.

Visitors with an intellectual disability or neurodivergence

Visitors with an intellectual disability or neurodivergence are welcome at the KBR museum. The museum is usually calm, although music can be heard in some areas. Currently, there are no low-stimulation times or adapted activities available.

Visitors with a hearing impairment

Visitors with a hearing impairment can easily visit the museum. Although the auditory experience of polyphony is less accessible, the exhibition’s story can still be fully followed through visual and written information.
