Open Access Week: KBR supports Open Access

KBR offers more than 1,574 documents in open access. They were selected by our librarians for their academic and scientific importance.

What does open access mean?

Free access to works (and other resources) that are accessible online. Open access literature is digital, online, free and without any pointless restrictions in terms of copyright and usage licenses. The term open access was first introduced in February 2002 with the signing of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Foundation texts

KBR draws on key foundation texts of Open Access to support this global movement:

Open Access at KBR

To support open access, KBR takes part in numerous federal and international initiatives.

  • Producing content in open access
    • The federal institutional repository ORFEO so that researchers can publish the results of their scientific research
    • The SODHA open data archive for publishing research data
    • The data.kbr.be project to make the data and metadata of KBR more accessible

Online access

Consult all our documents in open access via the catalogue. For some titles that are partially available in open access, you may have to create a MyKBR account and have a valid reader’s card or a free subscription to the electronic resources.
