Terms relating to orders for reproductions

  1. KBR only issues reproductions of documents it possesses or documents whose owner has issued a formal authorisation.
  2. Anyone requesting a reproduction is expected to respect the applicable legal requirements, in particular legislation relating to copyright. KBR cannot be held responsible for the illegal use of the photographic reproductions it has issued.
  3. It is forbidden to resell or publish a reproduction issued by KBR without having obtained its consent. KBR will not hand over any of its negatives and will not provide any negative microfilms.
  4. The personal data you provide us with will only be used for the purpose of this order. Afterwards your personal data may be processed anonymously, as aggregate data, for statistical purposes.
  5. All requests for a reproduction will be submitted to the head of the department where the document is kept, or to his/her representative. If the condition of a book or document renders it unsuitable for reproduction, the request will be cancelled.
  6. The procedure may be accelerated for an urgent order. In this case, the tariff will be doubled and the reproductions requested will be issued within a maximum of five working days. This procedure does not apply to ektachromes or slides, colour photos or high resolution digital images (> = 100 Mo). A preliminary request must be submitted to the Digitisation Department (DIGIT), which will accept it according to the possibilities of the workshop.

Conditions relating to the publication of reproductions

  1. To publish any document belonging to KBR, an authorisation request must be submitted to the Director-General or his/her representative, using the appropriate form.
  2. The personal data you provide us with will only be used for the purpose of this order. Afterwards your personal data may be processed anonymously, as aggregate data, for statistical purposes.
  3. Only original reproductions issued by KBR may be used for publication.
  4. Anyone who publishes a reproduction is expected to respect the applicable legal requirements, in particular legislation relating to copyright.
  5. A new request must be submitted for any further use of a reproduction (including in new editions or translations).
  6. It is forbidden to sell a reproduction issued by KBR to a third party without the permission of the Director-General or his/her representative. A reproduction issued by KBR may not be resold under any circumstances.
  7. Any reproduced document must include the words “Copyright KBR” as well as its exact reference, as in the following example: KBR – Prints – S.V 23489.
  8. KBR will be provided with a free copy of all publications containing a reproduction of any document belonging to it. In case of publication in a review or a collective work, an off-print of the article or contribution will suffice.
  9. For online publications, the resolution of the images must be limited to 72 dpi.
  10. The reproduction of an entire work must be the subject of a special agreement concluded with the Director-General of KBR, who will define the terms and rights. In all cases, KBR may request a maximum of ten copies for its own use.
  11. KBR cannot be held responsible for the illegal use of any photographic reproductions it has issued.
  12. Any publication of a reproduction of a document belonging to KBR is subject to copyright, regardless of the medium used.
  13. For publications with strictly scientific or educational purposes, the Director-General of KBR or his/her representative may grant a copyright exemption. Reasons for this exemption must be specified in the corresponding box on the aforementioned form.
  14. Copyright is granted for one publication in one language. KBR cannot grant the transfer of worldwide rights.
